Welcome to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus site
Countryside Properties, Liberty Property Trust and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have secured planning permission for the extension of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, subject to Section 106 Agreement. The consented development will provide a further 2.3 million sq. ft. of new biomedical research and development space and further clinical development immediately to the West of the existing Addenbrooke's campus on the southern fringe of Cambridge.
Addenbrooke's Hospital shares the Cambridge Biomedical Campus site with other major teaching and research institutions such as Departments of the University of Cambridge, the Medical Research Council and other teaching and research organisations. This co-location has helped clinicians and researchers to develop innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment for patients which are of national and international importance. The existing site has limited capacity and so the Applicants have developed a strategy over the last decade or so to allow for expansion, growth and continued opportunities for synergy between clinicians and researchers.
